How to get help through GIVIT
To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

Redland Community Centre Inc.
Redland Community Centre is a non-profit community based organisation with offices in Cleveland and Capalaba. We are endorsed by the federal government as a public benevolent institution and registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not for profits Commission (ACNC).
The Centre generally provides services to people in the suburbs of the Redland City Council area, including the Bay Islands, and the Brisbane suburbs of Wynnum/Manly.

Redlands Centre for Women Inc.
The Redlands Centre for Women (RCW) was founded by Katrina Beutel and incorporated in 2011 as a not for profit organisation.
RCW is run by a group of dedicated and passionate volunteers. We strive to provide opportunities for women in the Redlands area to be empowered, educated and connected.
Our main focus is to provide pamper gifts and programs to women of all ages living in the Redlands.

We provide a range of English, computer and first aid classes; in home tutoring for the kids and budgeting and English support for the parents; we help them navigate various government and non-government agencies; Counselling, Student financial assistance and Ros even supports the ladies in the Birthing ward. This is all done in a friendly community environment.
Refugee Migrant Children Centre - RMCC
RMCC provides unique mentoring programs for children from refugee, migrant and asylum seeker backgrounds in our four focus areas of education, identity & belonging, life skills & mental health, and wellbeing by bringing together and collaborating with the three key figures in each child's life: their school family and the wider community.
With the individual needs of each child at the core, RMCC partners with the family, school, settlement agency and their community to together tackle the unique and complex barriers they face settling in Australia.

Relationships Australia Queensland - Townsville
Relationships Australia is a community-based, non-profit organisation dedicated to building better relationships. Our mission is to promote relationships that are respectful, fair and safe, particularly where people or communities are at risk or vulnerable.
Intensive Family Support: (IFS) helps families improve safety and wellbeing. It is a free, mostly in-home service available to families who have children 0-18 years old. This program is available by referral from specific community agencies. (no fee)

Re-Love
Re-Love is an environmental charity that rescues furniture, white goods and technology and distributes directly to people in need. We work with women and children impacted by domestic violence, homelessness, people seeking asylum and indigenous youth and families. Our service is volunteer run, and free to our community.
We re-home 10-15 families every week.

The St Vincent de Paul Society is committed to actively and passionately speaking out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people we serve.
ReSet
ReSet is an organisation built up from 4 agencies but Wungening Aboriginal Corporation is the lead agencies from the consortium.
ReSet provides support to men and women while in prison and after leaving prison, so that they can have a new beginning that is meaningful and breaks the cycle of offending.
Reset Bandyup Family Centre
ReSet service is delivered by a Consortium of four agencies, comprising Centrecare, Wirrpanda Foundation, St. Bartholomew’s House, and led by Wungening Aboriginal Corporation. The consortium has 150 years combined experience delivering a range of community services to WA’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged populations. We have over 40 years combined experience delivering justice programs.

Resilient Uki Incorporated
We are a diverse group of community volunteers living on the land of the Bundjalung People, in the shadow of Wollumbin mountain, along the Tweed River and the many creeks and springs that feed it. We work collaboratively and compassionately to strengthen Uki and its surrounding communities to become more connected and resilient in this changing world. We are here to support and inspire the community to help themselves and each other.
We formed Resilient Uki Inc. (RUKI) as a not-for-profit incorporated association in May 2022, to focus on supporting the Greater Uki area to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies, disasters and crises.
RUKI has a multi-hazard focus but is built on the foundations of the Uki Flood Group which was established by volunteers in 2014, and has done extensive groundwork in keeping our community informed of flooding risks and response.
We envisage a connected, robust, resilient, regenerative and healthy community where these strengths sustain us in the face of adversity.
We see the Greater Uki community as a strong grassroots base of neighbourhood groups, working together to prepare for the future, while supporting each other to have a sense of safety, well-being and sustainability in our daily lives.
Respect Inc
Respect Inc is Queensland's only sex worker rights organisation. We are a peer-led organisation that provides education, referrals, and support to all members of the sex industry. We operate from an empowerment and harm minimisation perspective, and highly value the autonomy of sex workers. RhED
Resourcing Health & Education (RhED) is a service for the sex industry in Victoria. We provide holistic and inclusive services, programmes and resources to Victorian-based sex workers, disseminate relevant and current information to the greater sex industry, and to provide sex-work-centred education to the wider community. To receive donated items, services or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with a relevant support organisation who can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request(s) on GIVIT on your behalf.
To find relevant organisations in your area, use the search fields and filters above. Once you’ve input your filters, make sure you click ‘FIND AN ORGANISATION’ to find relevant organisations.
Thousands of organisations across Australia are registered with GIVIT, working across a variety of causes, hardships and demographics. Our priority is to respect and maintain the privacy, safety, dignity and independence of people reaching out for help. By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request arrange of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.

We recommend you speak with the support organisation that you’re working with. They may not be registered with GIVIT, or they may not have placed your request yet.
Please note that there is no guarantee that your request for donated items or services will be met. We’d love to meet every request placed on GIVIT, but your request being filled is dependent on donation(s) being made by donor(s).

Disaster and emergency recovery
If a natural disaster or emergency event has impacted you, lease visit your state or territory government’s disaster support page to see what assistance is available, including disaster payments, grants and financial aid.
Australian Capital Territory Government
You can also access information via national resources - National Emergency Management Authority and Services Australia.
Domestic and family violence
If your life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000 for emergency assistance.
If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.
Financial hardship
The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.
Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.
Homelessness
If you’re experiencing or at risk of homelessness, you can find homeless shelters near you by searching on the Ask Izzy website.
Your state or territory government can also help. Listed below are the options by state or territory.
Mental health, depression or anxiety
If you or someone else’s life is in daanger, call Triple Zero 000.
You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.
You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.
If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.
For First Nations Australians
If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
Children or young people experiencing hardship
Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.
For people living with disability
The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
For refugees and asylum seekers
If you’re a refugee or asylum seeker and you need help, you can contact the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre on 03 9326 6066 Monday to Friday for support.
For people struggling with addiction
The National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is a 24/7 service that provides free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs. You can call them on 1800 250 015.
