THE BOSS IS BACK!

Road Boss Rally will travel from Westmar to Gunnedah to raise money for vulnerable Aussies

One of the premier events on the Aussie car-enthusiast calendar, the iconic Road Boss Rally, will be hitting outback Australia over six action-packed days in July to raise money for not-for-profit GIVIT. Aiming to raise at least $210,000 for GIVIT, a donation platform that works with more than 4,500 charities across Australia, the Road Boss Rally will be following the Darling River through Queensland and Western New South Wales.

Event Founder and Organiser, Jamie Lawson, has run motoring events around the country for more than twenty years, with a strong focus on supporting the communities they pass through.

“We have become almost like a family on these rallies,” said Jamie. “Everyone supports each other, and we believe in offering a hand to the communities we travel through by fundraising or delivering donated goods.”

“It’s been a tough couple of years for everyone so I’m keen to get on the road, raise some money and have fun along the way.”

The more than forty cars participating in the rally will travel along remote bush tracks and back roads that most people don’t have the opportunity to see.

“This rally is not for the fainthearted. Some of the roads are difficult but we pass through some spectacular scenery,” said Jamie.

GIVIT CEO Sarah Tennant said that the cost-of-living crisis has increased the needs of people across the country.

“Thousands of Australians have been impacted by multiple disasters in recent years, and now with the rising cost of living many are at breaking point,” said Sarah.

“Needs on the GIVIT website have escalated in the past couple of years with a huge increase in people needing support, from fuel vouchers and school supplies for families who are suffering from financial hardship to furniture and white goods for people still rebuilding homes destroyed by floods.”

“We’re so grateful for the support we receive from the Road Boss Rally, without it we couldn’t continue to assist the more than 4,500 charities we work with across Australia.”

The Road Boss Rally kicks off on 2nd July at the Westmar pub in Queensland and finishes in Gunnedah in New South Wales on 7th July.
