Meet the team

Sam Richardson

Head of Marketing

Samantha Richardson is a marketing executive with almost twenty years’ experience leading marketing teams in the private sector.

As Head of Marketing at GIVIT, Samantha has a strong focus on brand growth, stakeholder engagement and transforming digital experiences for GIVIT supporters and users. She manages social media, digital marketing and media relations teams to build the profile of GIVIT among all stakeholders and inspire action.

Samantha has held previous leadership roles within the finance and insurance sectors and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Science degree.

Joanne Renton

Financial Controller

Joanne Renton is a qualified chartered accountant with 20 years’ experience in providing strategic leadership, financial management and reporting, business partnering, and process improvement across the commercial and not-for-profit sectors. Joanne joined GIVIT as Financial Controller in 2022, managing the financial and human resource operations of the organisation including payroll and purchasing teams.

Joanne has held previous financial operations roles with not-for-profit organisation Relationships Australia as well as positions within financial institutions in the United Kingdom.

She is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and holds a Bachelor of Science and a Graduate Certificate in Business (Philanthropy and Non-profit Management).

Christina Spehr

Head of Engagement

Christina Spehr is a disaster management specialist with extensive experience in community recovery and resilience.

As Head of Engagement at GIVIT, Christina leads the national and state engagement teams and nurtures relationships with key government stakeholders and disaster recovery providers.

Christina has held previous roles with Red Cross across the Asia Pacific region as well as in Australia. Christina was State Operations Lead for Red Cross Emergency Services where she was involved in response and recovery efforts for cyclones, bushfires, earthquakes, severe storms, floods, collective trauma events and the COVID19 pandemic. She holds a Master’s Degree in Humanitarian Assistance.

Sarah Collie

Head of Fundraising & Partnerships

Sarah Collie has more than ten years’ experience in the not-for-profit sector, managing fundraising and corporate partnerships for a number of Australian charities.

As Head of Fundraising and Partnerships at GIVIT, Sarah is responsible for the design, development and implementation of GIVIT’s fundraising and partnerships strategy, annual operational plans and budgets. She manages GIVIT’s corporate partnerships, community fundraising, grants and individual giving teams to inspire action and generate donations.


Sarah has held previous roles at Foodbank Queensland and Children’s Hospital Foundation, she holds a BA (Hons) in Business Administration and is a member of the Fundraising Institute Australia.
