Directions Health Services

Directions provides a range of services and programs for people affected by Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug issues (ATOD), their families and the wider community.

These services and programs include:

Althea Wellness Centre
The Althea Wellness Centre is a small clinic which is based on holistic health principles.

Arcadia House Detox, Transition and Day Programs:
Arcadia House offers a selective, non- medicated detox and an 8 week residential program, which is based on Therapeutic Community Principles.

Counselling:
Counselling and support for individuals, families and friends affected by ATOD issues.

Healthy Food Healthy Me:
The Healthy Food Healthy Me program aims to assist the health and wellbeing of people who use Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs by distributing nutritious food to people who use our Needle and Syringe Programs.

Needle and Syringe Program:
Provides clean injecting equipment, information on safe injecting practices, and general health information

Disability Advocacy Service

Disability Advocacy Service Inc. (DAS) is a key provider of community-based advocacy services within the municipalities of Alice Springs, Amoonguna and Tennant Creek, Northern Territory.

As a not-for-profit incorporated community organisation, Disability Advocacy Service offers a free, confidential advocacy service to persons and families with a disability, supporting and empowering clients to exercise their own rights in accordance with the NT Disability Advocacy Standards.

Disaster Relief Australia unites the skills and experiences of Australian Defence Force veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams around the globe.

Disaster Relief Australia - Sydney

Disaster Relief Australia unites the skills and experiences of Australian Defence Force veterans with first responders to rapidly deploy emergency response teams around the globe.

We provide disaster relief services to communities affected by bushfire, drought and flood by using our volunteer data base comprising of veterans, emergency services personnel and others to provide labour and tool to the communities in need.

Dismantle - BikeRescue

Dismantle is a small charity focussed on connecting young people 'at-risk' to services that can support them transition into adulthood. Presently this mission is achieved through a program called BikeRescue. It's a hands on earn-a-bike process where groups of up to 12 teenagers take apart, paint, clean and rebuild 2 bikes each - 1 for charity as a way to earn a second for themselves. While the process feels like a bike program, the staff facilitators are OTs, youth workers and social workers who use the engagement as outreach for non-clinical therapy and transitioning to additional service or education providers.

Diverge offers a community based state wide service, we have regionally based clinicians and we offer face-to-face and telehealth services. The Diverge team of practitioners have developed a unique service model after many years of experience in conducting behaviour management interventions in community settings.

Diversicare

Previously known as the Home and Community Care Resource Centre, Diversicare has over 21 years experience in the provision of quality, compassionate, in home care, to people from all backgrounds. With over a hundred staff (many of whom are multi-lingual), Diversicare is able to service its clients' needs in a culturally appropriate and inclusive manner.

Diversicare provides quality community based and coordinated in home care for the frail aged and carers as well as education and training, resources and projects to support aged care service providers and cultural communities.

Diversity ACT Community Services is a volunteer based organization that provides support services to the LGBTIQ community in the Canberra Region.

Divine Mercy Church

Divine Mercy Church is non profit organisation. We are catering the needs of our community with different activities in the church by connecting women and children that experiences domestic violence through counselling, feeding the homeless, children are neglecting have the Kidz Zone with programs such as music, dramas, sharing, arts and crafts, instruments, story telling, reading etc. Solo parents meeting up every fortnight, also link every group into the right services with other agencies. We are running the feeding ministry, Kidz Zone, Community Dove Sports, Youth, Young Adults, Young Couples, Men's Group as well as Women's Group, Leaderships meeting, R.U.N Festival every year etc.

Djabugay Aboriginal Corporations

Djabugay Aboriginal Corporations is made up of three entities which operate on behalf, and for the betterment of the Djabugay speaking people of the Kuranda region. The Corporations provide a range of programs, products and services which are geared to revitalising, maintaining and strengthening the Djabugay peoples’ culture, language and connection to their land, as well as equipping and providing them employment and sustainable economic opportunities. The Corporation currently run a range of programs including:

Djarindjin Aboriginal Corporation

Provide community services for the Djarindjin and Dampier Peninsula communities.
We own and run our own store, roadhouse and caravan park and our own airport.

Djirra

Djirra is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation with 20 years’ experience accompanying Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, and their children, on their individual journeys. We find solutions through Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women sharing their stories, journeys, and experiences. Djirra celebrates women’s strength and resilience. We are committed to a future without family violence. Our Koori Women's place relies on the generosity of organisations and community members like yourself, for practical and essential items such as clothing, toiletries and food relief. These types of donations play a significant role in assisting our team with providing the basics for our women who are escaping family violence.

Domestic Violence Action Centre

Domestic Violence Action Centre (DVAC) is a community-based organisation, committed to preventing and ending violence against women and children. We provide services in greater Ipswich including all Ipswich Metro, into Goodna, out to Laidley and just past Gatton, down to Boonah and up to Toogoolawah; and; Toowoomba including all suburbs, the Darling Downs, part of the Maranoa (excluding Roma), and the townships of Warwick, Stanthorpe, Dalby, Chinchilla, Goondiwindi, Oakey, and Pittsworth.

The primary focus of DVAC is on supporting women and children to increase their safety and wellbeing, advocacy, court support, counselling services, group work and children's work.

In addition to this, DVAC works with communities to prevent domestic violence through community education, community development, projects and events.

Services include:

Telephone information, referral, advocacy and support services to women, children, and young people.

Court support for Ipswich, Gatton, Toogoolawah, Toowoomba, Warwick, Stanthorpe, Goondiwindi, Chinchilla, Pittsworth, Dalby, and Oakey Courts.

Counselling and support services for women, children, and young people in service as well as some satellite locations.

Group work for women, children, and young people.

Safety upgrades for women wanting to stay in their homes.

Support for young people who have been impacted by domestic and family violence or sexual violence and have started to use violence against their mother or female caregiver. Read more »

Domestic Violence Crisis Service

DVCS is a feminist-informed community organisation that seeks to address violence and abuse in family and intimate partner relationships and to promote respect in these relationships.
We encourage people who use violence and abuse in family and intimate partner relationships to take responsibility for, and cease, this behaviour.

Domestic Violence Prevention Centre

DVPC is the specialist domestic and family violence service that operates from Coolangatta to Beenleigh. We support women, young people and children who have experienced domestic violence and facilitate behaviour change programs for people who use violence in their relationships. We provide counselling, safety planning, court support, advocacy, information and resources as well as engage the community in awareness-raising and activism activities.

Domestic Violence Service Management - Wilcannia Safe House

Domestic Violence NSW Service Management (DVSM) is a registered charity which aims to prevent and to provide support for people escaping/experiencing domestic and family violence and homelessness.

DVSM provides support services in an urban context (Inner Sydney), in a suburban context (Western Sydney) and in remote rural NSW (Wilcannia). DVSM also provides professional services (Insight Exchange) to build capacity and share learning about domestic and family violence within the Community Services sector and more broadly with the wider ecosystem of corporations, organisations, institutions, online and local communities.
