GIVIT helps thousands of Australians in need every year by providing items, services and vouchers. GIVIT helps people impacted by natural disasters, domestic and family violence or homelessness, First Nations Australians, people living with disability or mental ill-health, and much more.

How to get help through GIVIT

To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

CRASHENDO! East Gippsland

CRASHENDO! East Gippsland (est 2013) is a community-initiated and operated music and social development program, based on El Sistema (Venezuela) a worldwide 40+ year network. Programs provide free, high quality early years professional development opportunities, instrumental tuition, community orchestra, performances and unique collaborative events. This improves educational and social outcomes for children, youth, their parents and the wider community. Programs give particular support for those who are experiencing challenges in their lives.

Creatives Collective ARI Inc

We are a disability-led disabled artists' group who support disabled artists and disability rights through providing a peer-led environment, job opportunities and training, and assistance.

Crisis Accommodation Gove Inc

We provide a Domestic and Family Violence Service (Women Shelter). The service provision is based on providing a safe and secure crisis (0-3 nights) and short-term (up to 13 weeks) accommodations to women (and their children) who at risk, experiencing and or escaping Domestic and Family Violence from the East Arnhem Regional area.

CrossCulture Church of Christ Point Cook Inc.

We do Foodbank Ministry every Sundays between 1p-2p at the church carpark.

We started this ministry Sept 2020, at the beginning in average we are serving between 20-30 families. However since July 2021 the demand has increased exponentially, at the moment we are serving between 70-90 families.

We are also regularly supporting IWinAus which helping 6-8 families who are struggling financially/legal/visa issue. IWinAus pickup the pre-pack boxes from us and drop them off to these families.

Every Sunday, we try to provide fresh fruit and vegetables, tin foods, baby products (nappies and formula), and other dry food like pasta, rice, long life milk, etc

Crossenvale Community Group INC

Our community house provides support to local residents in the area of our house and the wider community of Echuca. Our house is a resource and support to our public housing tenants. We provide food relief, arts & craft groups, room hire, free hygiene products (share the dignity bags, pads). Cuppa and chat, garden, community lunch programs. We host family and community events.

CrossLife - a Baptist Church

CrossLife - a Baptist Church has three campuses on the Gold Coast. Southport campus has opened a Food Pantry since COVID on Thursdays and Fridays to those in need in the local area.
We are committed to helping our community through times of difficulty and stress. This COVID Crisis has put a lot of us in exceptional positions.
As part of our ministry as CrossLife Southport, we are here to extend our hand to those in need.

Crosslinks

Crosslinks is a not-for-profit organisation that has proudly supported people with disabilities since 1996. Our team of more than 220 staff provide disability support services to hundreds of people all over the Perth metropolitan area from our base in Midland. Our services include Community Participation, Adult & Youth Social Clubs, Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation, and Support Coordination.

We are a NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) registered provider so you can be assured that our services and supports meet the level of quality and safety in the NDIS Practice Standards. Also, as a not-for-profit organization, our profits are invested back into delivering and improving the services we offer participants.

Crossways is a Christian based charitable organisation that offers a range of support and services to the community. We have a cafe, opshop and a low cost food pantry. We are a not for profit community based preschool and childcare centre offering education and care to approximately 50 children in the Cudal district.

Cullunghutti Aboriginal Child and Family Centre

We are a not for profit, registered charitable Aboriginal organisation located on the South Coast of NSW in the Shoalhaven. We provide advocacy and support, as well as allied health, social and emotional wellbeing programs and Early learning services to local Aboriginal Child and their families and communities.

Cumnock Village Preschool

The preschool is a community based not for profit organisation which is administered by a voluntary parent management committee. Their role is to work with the staff to ensure the efficient running of the service. All parents automatically become members of the preschool upon enrollment.

We are funded by both your fees and by DEC. This money is managed by our management committee. We are a not for profit organisation, which means that all monies are returned to the running of the preschool.

Currie Crescent Community Centre

The Canberra Baptist Church has been part of the Kingston community since 1929. To enhance our connection with the community, we established the Currie Crescent Community Centre in 2015. It provides an avenue for members of the Church and people of the local community to come together to socialise, learn and enjoy.

If a natural disaster or emergency event has impacted you, lease visit your state or territory government’s disaster support page to see what assistance is available, including disaster payments, grants and financial aid.

Domestic and family violence

If your life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000 for emergency assistance.

If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.

 

Financial hardship

The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.

Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.

 

Homelessness

If you’re experiencing or at risk of homelessness, you can find homeless shelters near you by searching on the Ask Izzy website.

Your state or territory government can also help. Listed below are the options by state or territory.

 

Mental health, depression or anxiety

If you or someone else’s life is in daanger, call Triple Zero 000.

You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.

You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.

If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.

 

For First Nations Australians

If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.

 

Children or young people experiencing hardship

Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.

 

For people living with disability

The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.

 

For refugees and asylum seekers

If you’re a refugee or asylum seeker and you need help, you can contact the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre on 03 9326 6066 Monday to Friday for support.

 

For people struggling with addiction

The National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is a 24/7 service that provides free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs. You can call them on 1800 250 015.

Alternatively, Alcohol & Drug Counselling Online offers 24/7 online chat counselling.
