How to get help through GIVIT
To access donated items or services through GIVIT, please connect with a support organisation registered with GIVIT that can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request on GIVIT on your behalf. Click here for more information on how to get support through GIVIT.

Yiyili is a small remote Aboriginal community located in the upper to the mid-Kimberly region of Western Australia. Yiyili has an independent school that caters to most of the community's needs as well as by acting as the contact for all external support networks/agencies.
YMCA Cannon Hill Community Centre
We are a Community and Neighbourhood Centre and provide services and supports for all ages and abilities. Our Centre is a safe place where everyone is welcome. Our community services and supports include:
Emergency relief and crisis support - food parcels, clothing, toiletries, blanket, financial assistance with payment of bills, petrol vouchers, prescription medication.
Information and Referral - we link people into other services within the community such as housing, domestic violence and counselling.
Community events and social groups - we hold community events and run social groups to help reduce social isolation and promote connections within the community.
Programs - we run free programs such as a JP service, computer lessons and cooking classes.
We help to create thriving communities and advocate for social justice and human rights for vulnerable members of the community.

YMCA NSW - Cooma
The Cooma Youth Hub, located in the heart of Cooma, is a drop-in youth centre for young people aged 12 to 17. It offers a safe and friendly environment for young people to hang out in and is open four days a week.
YMCA NT Youth and Community Services
Provides case management to youth at risk. One on one support catered to young people’s needs. Outreach to surrounding indigenous communities as well as our greater urban community.
Our main program is an alternative education programs aimed at providing support and guidance for teenagers who have disengaged with school to find them a path for their future that suits them.
We also run various after hours programs and holiday programs so the youth in our community have a safe space to hang out.

YMCA Op Shop started to help fund the YMCA School Breakfast Program and provide them with a meal and the ability to focus on their study.

YMCA Vocational School - Acacia Ridge
We are a special assistance school senior high school (Years 10-12) for students who have disengaged or at risk of disengaging from school.
Students are referred to us by mainstream schools due to truancy, behaviour, mental health and learning disorders such as ASD and ADHD. Youth service organisations such as Child Safety, Out of Home Care Providers and other youth services also refer young people to us who have disengaged from school. We are a multi-cultural school with numerous Indigenous, Islander, African and Islamic students.
Approx 90% of our young people come from a trauma background often due to DV. 80% of our students have resulting social and emotional disorders, with an additional 20% presenting with cognitive learning issues such ADHD, ASD or Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Our goal is to provide our young people with the opportunities they required to be the best versions of themselves so they can gain employment.

Yok Djakoorliny
Yok Djakoorliny is an Aboriginal NFP that is run by and for Aboriginal women. The focus of YD is to help women using health and well being as the focus. We currently run Exercise programs within a prison and help the women when they leave. we provide scholarships annually for 2 women to become personal trainers and then they can go on to earn money and inspire their community. We also do community events and train twice a week with a PT.

Yokai (WA Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation) supports the social and emotional wellbeing of WA individuals and families adversely affected by policies and practices of separating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island children from their families, communities, Country and Culture.

Yoonthalla Services Woorabinda was established to address the disadvantages faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the discrete Indigenous community of Woorabinda by providing and creating holistic support services and opportunities that will support and assist in the relief of health; social and emotional well-being; cultural safety; education, training and employment; and economic development.

You Belong Australia
You Belong welcomes, supports and empowers refugees to thrive in the Australian communities within which we serve. In addition, You Belong supports individuals and other organisations to connect with refugees.
This is done though several different programs, including our Learner Driver Mentorship program, resilience building workshops, English classes, vocational skills training, welcome picnics, general assistance, awareness raising and other one off events.
You Matter (Aus) Ltd
You Matter is a Victorian based charity which supports women and families who have experienced domestic and family violence, through helping to ensure we can provide all that is needed to fully equip their homes with the furniture and household goods necessary to run a functional home.
You Matter works with domestic violence agencies to support their clients once they have secured long-term accommodation. You Matter supports the recovery space in domestic and family violence, aiming to prevent women returning to the abusive situation and enabling them to move on and become contributing members of society once again.
You Matter’s Vision that women and children feel supported to live a safe and happy life within their own homes and their community and your contribution will go towards this.

We are a not for profit organisation that works predominantly with young people and families throughout South East Qld, NSW and WA. We also have refuges for those affected by homelessness and domestic violence. The Starfish Program, which provides support for children, young people (0 - 18 years old) and families to strengthen and improve mental health and emotional wellbeing within the Logan region. Starfish also works with community groups and schools. Starfish provides free practical support; individual counselling; links to local services; parent/carer psycho-education; mental health and social-emotional wellbeing workshops; and community outreach, education and events.

yourtown is a national organisation and registered charity that aims to tackle the issues affecting young people’s lives, including long-term unemployment, mental health issues, and domestic and family violence. Established in 1961, yourtown's mission is to enable young people, especially those who are marginalised and without voice, to improve their quality of life.

To receive donated items, services or vouchers through GIVIT, you must first connect with a relevant support organisation who can assess your needs and provide assistance. This organisation can then place a request(s) on GIVIT on your behalf.
To find relevant organisations in your area, use the search fields and filters above. Once you’ve input your filters, make sure you click ‘FIND AN ORGANISATION’ to find relevant organisations.
Thousands of organisations across Australia are registered with GIVIT, working across a variety of causes, hardships and demographics. Our priority is to respect and maintain the privacy, safety, dignity and independence of people reaching out for help. By connecting with a relevant support organisastion, your needs can be assessed and verified, and you can receive tailored support, which may include the organisation requesting items or services on your behalf through GIVIT.
The support organisation that is assisting you can request arrange of donated items and services through GIVIT on your behalf. This may include furniture, household items, whitegoods and appliances. You can also request baby items, toiletries, toys and educational supplies, kid’s or adult’s clothing, digital devices like mobile phones or laptops.
GIVIT may also be able to help you buy groceries, fuel or medication in the form of vouchers. You can check our ‘What’s needed’ list for an idea of what can be requested through GIVIT.
Your requests may be filled through a donor donating the money needed to purchase the item new, or through a donor donating the actual item or service.
Your support organisation can also request time and skills such as tradespeople, cleaners, health and social support, tutoring and transport assistance.

We recommend you speak with the support organisation that you’re working with. They may not be registered with GIVIT, or they may not have placed your request yet.
Please note that there is no guarantee that your request for donated items or services will be met. We’d love to meet every request placed on GIVIT, but your request being filled is dependent on donation(s) being made by donor(s).

Disaster and emergency recovery
If a natural disaster or emergency event has impacted you, lease visit your state or territory government’s disaster support page to see what assistance is available, including disaster payments, grants and financial aid.
Australian Capital Territory Government
You can also access information via national resources - National Emergency Management Authority and Services Australia.
Domestic and family violence
If your life is in danger, call Triple Zero 000 for emergency assistance.
If you have experienced or are at risk of family and domestic violence and/or sexual assault, contact the National Sexual Assault, Family & Domestic Violence Counselling Line on 1800 RESPECT (1800 737 732). 1800 RESPECT is also contactable via text, online chat or video call and is available 24 hours.
Financial hardship
The National Debt Helpine provides free, independent and confidential financial counselling via phone or live chat, Monday to Friday. You can call them on 1800 007 007.
Mob Strong Debt Helpline is a free advice service about money matters for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. They can be contacted on 1800 808 488, Monday to Friday.
Homelessness
If you’re experiencing or at risk of homelessness, you can find homeless shelters near you by searching on the Ask Izzy website.

Mental health, depression or anxiety
If you or someone else’s life is in daanger, call Triple Zero 000.
You can access 24/7 crisis support by calling Lifeline on 13 11 14. You can also contact Lifeline via text or online chat.
You can talk to a counsellor 24/7 through Beyond Blue. You can also access brief counselling with Beyond Blue via online chat.
If you’re a young person aged 12-25, you can talk to a trained clinician, you can contact Headspace 7 days a week between 9am and 1pm by calling 1800 650 890 or via online chat.
For First Nations Australians
If you’re a First Nations Australian and you are going through a tough time, you can call 13YARN (13 92 76) to talk with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander crisis supporter.
Children or young people experiencing hardship
Children and young people aged 5 – 25 can access support through Kids Helpline by calling 1800 55 1800 or through online chat 24/7.
For people living with disability
The Disability Gateway is an Australian Government service to help people with disability, their family, friends and carers find the support they need. They can be contacted on 1800 643 787, Monday to Friday.
For refugees and asylum seekers
If you’re a refugee or asylum seeker and you need help, you can contact the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre on 03 9326 6066 Monday to Friday for support.
For people struggling with addiction
The National Alcohol and Other Drug Hotline is a 24/7 service that provides free and confidential advice about alcohol and other drugs. You can call them on 1800 250 015.
